Weapon chart sorting

For the weapon chart I chose to use weapon type then alphabetical within type. This is certainly not optimal, but I'm unsure what is necessarily better. Sorting by size (such as in Bhao's post on the forums) might be better. Any thoughts? Yomi 13:01, 2 May 2007 (CDT)

i took that from the nwn manual and moved the ranged weapons out. i say, go for it. --bhao 06:52, 4 May 2007 (CDT)

I changed the table substantially, including adding all the latest weapon changes. The L29, L35, Dustbone, and Dis weapon charts will be next. --Yomi 16:40, 4 May 2007 (CDT)

Shortbows

For non-Ranger characters shortbows do not add Shield AC. If they were to add AC, it would be Shield AC. This is to clarify a common misconception. Forum reference. BooBooSpooki 14:03, 29 January 2008 (CST)

I will say that there was a specific discussion of adding shield AC to shortbows similar to how Dwarven Waraxes get shield AC when used by DD's. This was to make them a viable alternative to Longbows or Slings. That is, the common misconception came about because that was what was discussed as a forthcoming change. It apparently fell through the cracks or was decided against. It was not in reference to the 'bonus AC's changing to shield AC' generic change as bhao mentions on the forum. The ranger shortbows from Uroboros, the Hive and Pit of Molition DO add shield AC. See for example Mandrake. --buddhamind 18:27, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Proficiencies

I extracted the proficiencies from the baseitems.2da file and updated the page. They may change in the future with HG updates. Yomi 17:37, 7 March 2008 (CST)

Updated proficiencies from hak version 12, which changed Assassin Dagger and Trident. Trident now will match 1.69. Yomi 19:52, 9 April 2008 (CDT)

Barbarian comment

"When wielded by characters with the Improved Two-Weapon Fighting feat, double weapons (dire mace, double axe, double scimitar, and double sword) grant two additional attacks beyond the normal two additional offhand attacks. This means a Medium character can reach 9 attacks (4 base + 1 haste + 2 offhand + 2 extra), and a Large character can reach 7 (they would not receive the 2 offhand attacks). The additional attacks will be lost if the character has anything in his offhand, unless he is a Barbarian with Shapestrong Rage."
