Overview
Home of the Demi-Urge Ixion. The Forge of Ixion is used for a variety of tasks regarding randomized loot, such as de-randomizing, re-randomizing, removing augments, adding properties and fixing properties. Since it spawns somewhere different each reset, players will need to search each map of the Elemental Planes to find it. However to save time it is possible to find gems Forger's Beacon that allow direct transport to the Forge as random drops in certain Legendary Level areas. There are transfer chests inside his workshop, so players don't have to carry items they desire to modify before venturing in the planes.
Ixion can
- Derandomize an item's base armor class (fixes those that have had their AC reduced but would nerf one that has had its AC increased)
- Remove all augments present on an item (optionally keeping any of UR quality or below)
- Rerandomize an item
- Restore a randomly removed property
- Remove a randomly added property
- Remove a use restriction
- Derandomize an item
- Add a random beneficial property, note you can only add a property if the item either has no existing random property (or properties) and/or has any properties removed, if it has any properties removed you will need to fix this before adding a new one. This function is not currently available for xR loot.

NOTE:The items required to make most of the changes to xR loot are not yet present in game (the message you receive will state requiring items like 'Unobtainium') so you will need to find the relevant Artificer's Monograph to fix any badly randomized items.
Items
To perform each of the operations, Ixion requires a specific crafting item (or in some cases more than one) and some gold proportional to the target item value. However:
- Two items of the same type might require different crafting items
- You may change the crafting item requirement by applying or removing an augmenter
- The craft item value is proportional to the item rarity, i.e. crafting BUR items require rarer materials
- Some items always perform the same function for instance adding a random beneficial property requires Asmodeus' Touch (however does not work on xR loot) and stripping (for re-use) an UR or lower augmenter requires either Serpent's Blood or an Ulith (Note: Stripping augmenters from xR loot now requires things other than Nessus secrets).
Crafting Item Locations
Since each item drops from a certain location or locations, this table shows where to get them, Hells items with no specific layer tend to be more common in areas where the creatures or elements they are associated with are more prevalent. Random items require a character with enough Search skill (usually maximum) to actively search in specific locations (which may or may not be active) to find them.
To save time in searching 'dud' locations it is recommended to have access to Elemental Potion of Locate Object, Moliated Guildmaster's Glint or Brazier of Painful Truth:
