Pazunia is the Plane of Portals. This is the access point into and out of the The Abyss. Within Pazunia, you can use a Gem of Teleportation or a Rune of Return to jump to the portal which returns you to Zerial's Workshop.

There are no loot drops from items or creatures in Pazunia with the sole exception of Pazuzu himself.

In general there are 2-4 encounters per map in Pazunia. One mini-boss (Pazuzu) is known to wander the plane (except for Aldinach's Egg). He is known to drop ammunition for missile weapons. The chances of finding him are dependent upon the number of Paladin levels in the party. At the very least, one party member needs to have at least 1 Paladin level, but in general the more total Paladin levels in the party, the better your chances of finding him.

Pazuzu was among the oldest of beings, predating the Abyss itself. He was a primordial, called an obyrith. As such, Pazuzu manipulated the god Tharizdun, causing the interloping god to create the Abyss. The Winged One was also responsible for the corruption of the angel Asmodeus. Seen as his ultimate prize, Pazuzu corrupted the one-time servant of the lawful gods and convinced the angel to turn on those he served. This corruption and Pazuzu's further aid led to victory, though only Asmodeus and the other obyriths knew of the demon lord's help. This costly aid was yet to be paid by the fallen angel.

The Lord of Corruption was also instrumental in bringing the Blood War to fruition. Playing both sides through his connection to Asmodeus, Pazuzu maintained a balance of strength between the devils and demons, prolonging the endless war. Both Asmodeus, and a group called the Queen's Conclave, used the Blood War for their own ends.

Aldinach's Egg

This is the central map of Pazunia, which accesses all others, and is the link to Zerial's Workshop:

  • The Grand Abyss is to the east
  • The River Styx is to the south
  • Lakes of Molten Iron is tothe west

The northern peninsula of Aldinach's Egg, north of the large gate, is where the portal to Zerial's Workshop can be found.

Within Aldinach's Egg are portals to:

  • Shedaklah part 2
  • Thanatos part 2
  • Zionyn part 2

There are no environmental hazards to be found here.

The Grand Abyss

This map contains the portals to 4 of the 5 part 1 runs:

  • Azzagrat part 1
  • Gaping Maw part 1
  • Thanatos part 1
  • Zionyn part 1

There are no environmental hazards to be found here.

The River Styx

This map contains the River Styx (DC 60 Will check versus Amnesia) and the portals to:

  • Shedaklah part 1
  • Azzagrat part 3
  • Gaping Maw part 3
  • Thanatos part 3

Note that each portal is placed within The River Styx so starting these runs, and returning from the previous runs (Azzagrat, Gaping Maw and Thanatos parts 2) may force you to make a save.

Lakes of Molten Iron

This map contains lava (massive Fi & Po damage --- Firewalk eliminates the Fi damage only) and portals to:

  • Azzagrat part 2
  • Gaping Maw part 2
  • Shedaklah part 3
  • Zionyn part 3

Note that the portal leaving Gaping Maw part 1 (and going to part 2) is placed inside the lava. People will normally have to move slightly after arriving, and may trigger a spawn. This can be particularly nasty, especially if the party are separated and through porting back to rest are low on spells.
