Summary

This is a general summary of what I found from studying these tables. This is probably what most people will want to read, since it states most of what there is to learn from the tables in a much easier-to-use fashion.

The format for this page is:

  • Summary: (a facts only summary)
  • Opinion: (my opinion, for what its worth)

All the stated numbers are obtained from the figures when AB is less than or equal to AC. This, I think, is when the figures will be most useful.

Blind Fight

  • Summary: When fighting 50% concealed creatures, it is worth 2-3 AB. However, when the AB of the attacker is greater than or equal to the AC of the defender, it is worth much more. (up to 8 AB)
  • Opinion: Historically a must-have feat for non-casters, considering it also helps you keep AC vs concealed creatures, however purely for offensive purposes a high Listen skill can achieve more AB. As this is a feat enabler for LSA Listen it can be beneficial for classes that do not have listen as a class skill when they are not Half-Elf (as this race allows access to LSA Listen without taking Blind Fight).

Monk Attacks

  • Summary: Using unarmed or kamas as a monk is worth 1-5 AB compared to a normal character. However, when the AB of the attacker is greater than or equal to the AC of the defender, its value increases hugely.
  • Opinion Monks can't whine about low AB anymore! Or at least not as much.

Flurry of Blows

  • Summary: Worth 2-5 AB. However, when the AB of the attacker is greater than or equal to the AC of the defender, its value skyrockets!
  • Opinion: Monks should use this ALL the time! You are almost never at any disadvantage.

Two Extra Attacks

  • Summary: Just a tad better than Dual Wielding, as expected. See Below.
  • Opinion: Good to have!

Dual Wielding

  • Summary: Worth 2-5 AB. However, when the AB of the attacker is greater than or equal to the AC of the defender, its value increases greatly.
  • Opinion: The AB increase cancels the penalty for dual wielding, but is it worth three feats and the loss of a shield? Only when the character's AB is about the same or greater than the defenders AC. For kama monks though, a must-have if you can fit in the feats!

Concealment

  • Summary: 50% concealment is worth 1-5 AC. However, when the AB of the attacker is greater than or equal to the AC of the defender, its value increases dramatically.
  • Opinion: Concealment rocks! Blind fight does reduce its effectiveness a tad, but how many monsters have this feat? Its up to the players to guess. Get it if you can.

Epic Dodge

  • Summary: Useful for any character as it avoids the first successful attack in any round.
  • Opinion: Ironically, this feat would be much more valuable for low AC STR based characters than the high AC DEX based characters than can take it. Definitely worth getting if you can.
  • WARNING: Dapperdave has pointed out a major error in the epic dodge calculations. Shame on me for not checking the Wiki on epic dodge! It doesn't just evade the first attack, it evades the first successful attack. That makes the current epic dodge figures incorrect, especially at a high AC. This will take a while for me to fix up, since it will be a lot more complicated to calculate. Please disregard the current epic dodge figures. They currently show epic dodge as being worth much less than it is. Sorry for the confusion.
