The priest here drops a key (the Black Disc) one of two allowing access to the Shadow Pontiff's area, be careful where you tread as there are a couple of extremely unpleasant traps which can bring your adventures to a sudden end. The priest can cast Implosion so disabling/killing ASAP is advisable unless you are immune to this effect.
