The best pre xR race for making a Sorcerer with, the free metamagics give you spell school flexibility, also suitable for other Charisma focussed builds including caster Bards and Bloodfire Mages. The bonus class Cleric may seem odd but if you can manage to make an effective Turner Cleric it can be useful.
