I'd like to get people's input on this change to the template.

If enough people like the change, I'd like to move to add in a template for each item type, and try to get it used for all items (the images are nice, but I'm sure they take up quite a bit of room, vs a text representation) --Zeryl 04:19, 2 August 2008 (CDT)

The template would be nice if it could be used for searching -- i.e. a database. The images if made as 8-bit PNG's, aren't bad in terms of space. The Deva's Tear image is only 37k as a JPG, the larger Hellfire Screen is an 8-bit PNG and is only 25k. Personally I'm not liking the look of the template vs. a proper image, especially if the image is just included anyway, which means no space savings, just more clutter on the screen and scrolling down to see the image. Something that might work is a window to the right of the main area with an unobtrusive version of the properties. Wikipedia has something similar for most of their articles, and Acaos had a wiki with something like it. It may be something that requires us to upgrade to the latest MediaWiki (HGWiki is currently running 1.6.8 (Special:Version, MediaWiki is on 1.12.0 ([1])). Yomi 10:32, 2 August 2008 (CDT)

The image was kept for comparison on the Deva's Tear Page. The Cormyrean Greatshield is how I would hope to see it end up.

Is there something specific about it you'd like to see changed? Or would you rather it go away (either way, no harm done, was bored and gave me something to do :) )

Also, would you be interested in working on a search engine for items? I'm a php programmer by trade, and it might be beneficial to some of the newer people (like myself) to be able to search for items. The only hard part will be data input, unless we could get FunkySwerve to assist in some sort of export (which is unlikely due to the secrecy surrounding some items)
