Introduction

Requirements

Immortality and level 41 to cross through the caves.

The following immunities/gear will be important to you. Cold, Magical, Positive, Divine, Piercing, Slashing and an item with Levitation.

General Notes

  • Uroboros Peak is a free rest zone, Immortal characters will not fugue or limbo in Uroboros Peak.
  • The entire run is free teleport zone.
  • As loot spawns directly from creatures here you can spam loot breaking spells with impunity as there is nothing you can break.
  • The second, fourth and final maps in the area require levitation, whilst lack of this ability will not instantly kill you (unlike in the Desert and Dustbone) it will render you KD (when you fail the tumble check) and effectively a sitting target for anything that wants to beat on you and makes you unable to heal when you suffer from KB damage.

Spawn Structure

Spawns are not dynamic in that the numbers and types of creatures do not scale with player group size, paragon type creatures do not spawn in this area, however the mix of creatures present in spawns will vary on a per server reset basis.

Transit

Transit with mobs alive No.

Areas

The Uroboros areas can be reached by taking the boat with the Northern Trader in the docks to go to the Arctic Wastes then immediately turning west and entering the cave past the crabs.

Frozen Foothills

- Dire Polar Bear (Grapples)
- Dire Winter Wolf
- Frostwere
- Glacial Flow (Fortitude Saves vs. Cold DC 49: Frozen (Petrifying like effect))
- Frostwere Shaman (caster) kill quickly or they cast the druid epic spell Primal Cataclysm.Cast also Flesh to Stone and can polymorph you (droping something to the ground will end it)
- Ice Mephit
- Remorhaz Larva (immolation type fire effect)

- All creatures here with the exception of Remorhaz Larva can be killed with Death Magic, the Larva can be killed with either Weird or Disintegrate.

Switchbacks

Lost Temple

Nandaxilus the Frost Lich here has the key that is needed for the door to proceed, the key is consumed on use. He also posses a parchment with a password that is needed for the puzzle in the Ancient Gem Mine. The Lich can only be killed if his Phylactery is destroyed. After a few autorezes the Lich will freeze and the Phylactery can now be damaged, it will keep spawning Frozen Arcanists, bash on it to destroy then you can finally kill the Lich.

- Undead White Dragonkin (Breach on hit)
- Frozen Wraith
- Frozen Arcanist (Mords and silences)
- Ice Elemental (Knockdown dc?)
- Glacial Flow (freezes)

- Miniboss: Nandaxilus (Drops 1 Uro Set item) including some very nice armours

All creatures here except the miniboss can be killed with Death Magic or Sunburst/Undeath to Death

Icy Ascent

This zone requires Levitation.
Watch out for Frozen Flumes Cold and Magical party kickback damage.

- Frozen Flume (Cold and Magical party kickback) Gust of Wind is very useful to remove these without kb
- Spawn of Uroboros (STR + DEX check DC 28)
- Dire Winter Wolf
- Ice Mephit
- Dire Polar Bear (Grapples)
- Winter Fiend
- White Dragonkin Priest (Implodes!), Warrior, Berserker

A Miniboss can occasionally spawn here Xixecal one of the possible items he drops is a helm with OC warhammer, the Crown of the Twilight War suited for use by Battle Cleric builds.

Ancient Gem Mine

Riddle: Step on the letters found on the parchment the Lich drops (Note: You can not guess this you need to have killed the Lich and looked at the parchment), then the magic barrier opens.

Then you need 3 Black Powder Barrels. To pick them up a minimum strength of 40 is needed (once you have picked them up they can be passed to other characters with less than 40 Str). Place three barrels in front of the ice barrier in close proximity (use them and target yourself to correctly place) and bash them with a ranged weapon or loot breaking spell, they explode and clear the way. If you place them too far from each other there is a chance the explosion will not be great enough to break the ice and if you use less than three it definitely will not break it. Pick up the spare barrels and save them as they can be used to enter other runs such as The Hive (breaking the barrier in the entrance area) and Catacombs of Dulvuroth (via destroying the rockfall in the Lost Temple area).

- White Dragonkin Priest (Implodes!), Warrior, Berserker (only appear in the first spawn as you enter)
- Yeti Disciple
- Yeti Hurler
- Yeti Warrior
- Yeti Shaman (Bombardment, Greater Dispel)
- Dire Polar Bear (Grapples)
- Dire Winter Wolf

- Miniboss: Yeti Chef, can instakill by crushing your skull, critical hit immunity protects against the instakill effect although not the damage, drops more Uroboros set items including missile weapons (not the Ranger bows).

- All creatures here with the exception of the Yeti Chief can be killed with Death Magic.

Summit Caldera

This zone requires Levitation.

Uroboros is here with many minions in a small area. Good luck. Uroboros Strength check DC:32 Knockdown. Winged Buffet Uroboros Reflex Save DC:57 vs. Knockdown (stomps on you, driving you to the ground!). Dragon Breath: Cold & Magical (Reflex/Cold Save DC: 60). Uroboros dragon aura reduces saves. It can also produce more Spawn of Uroboros through a breath effect although most parties will have killed it before this happens.

When it dies it drops a selection of the following items Cold damage melee weapons, Ranger shortbows, UR & Rare items and a vial of Uroboros blood (always drops).

- Spawn of Uroboros (STR + DEX check DC 28)
- White Dragonkin Priest (Implodes!)
- White Dragonkin Warrior
- Winter Fiend
- Frozen Flume (Cold and Magical party kickback) Gust of Wind is very useful to remove these without kb

Strategy and Tactics

Blood Fire Mages tend to excel in this run with their arsenal of fire spells and Bigby's Crushing Hands. A high level BFM will drastically speed the parties progress. Orbs and Mord are also very useful tools and any caster or tank that can wield mord/breach (MOAD Weapons for tanks) will also add to the parties success. PM's also have a good time here as they can instakill a significant proportion of the mobs with Wail, Weird, Finger of Death, Circle of Death & PWK plus use Undeath to Death in the temple on the undead enemies. Gust of Wind or similar spells/effects can be useful to remove Frozen Flumes to avoid the kickback these creatures generate when damaged.
