A bird of surprising melee capability including the original NWN devastating critical, it can be dominated with enough animal empathy (you can buy gear with added AE from the Merchants Emporium to boost to the required level). Give it a few druid or ranger buffs and it becomes an engine of destruction for areas up to and including the Abandoned Farm the normal tactic for low level Oltum handlers is to use invisibility to avoid being killed while following it.
Note: If you die whilst it is dominated you will need to wait out your death timer before you can successfully dominate again, it will show as an empathy success but it will not appear in party.
It can be useful to buff the bird with suitable spells to improve its defensive/offensive capabilities, even if you are not a caster class Haste and Stoneskin potions will significantly boost it.
