A class is a profession or vocation for a character. It determines what he or she is able to do: combat training, magical ability, skills, and more. Selection of a class for a character is typically based on the core concept for the character. The basic selections can approximate almost any character concept, and often several options are available.

All classes on Higher Ground are heavily customized. Additionally, so-called quasiclasses have been added. The listing below shows all possible base, prestige and quasi classes offered in Higher Ground.

Notes and Terminology

  • Multi-Class: Taking levels in different character classes for the progression of your character levels 1 through 40.
  • A character may have no more than three different character classes. An example of this would be: 11 levels of Fighter / 28 levels of Weapon Master / 1 level of Rogue
  • Experience penalties (or bonuses) for classes and class mixes are based on the race or subrace of the character with the subrace taking precedence. For example whilst based on the Human template a Lizardfolk character would have FCs: Fighter or Ranger and BC: Druid. Also note that the BC experience is given even if you only have one level of this class in a build.
